A fishing boat skippered by David Fairbairn, a former crew member and father of current Dunbar coxswain Gary Fairbairn suffered engine failure . They were stranded one and a half miles north of Torness. Mechanics managed to fix the generator, allowing the battery to recharge & restart the power.

In the same week Dunbar’s (ILB) was launched to assist a rigid inflatable boat owned by crew member Alan Ross after it suffered engine failure near to the town’s harbour. The rib was towed back to the harbour
