A G Thomson has cleared the area that is to be used for the Interpretation Hub on the Battery and archaeologists have recorded the original flagstones that formed part of the old fumigation room at the hospital.

The vaults behind have been opened up (and closed again for the time being) but two of the three rooms are in relatively good condition with their old fire-places.

The main contractor, Graeme Brown, is already well under way with the consolidation repairs to the walls. This is a dangerous building site and is to be avoided by the public while work is on-going.
