Dunbar Sailing Club is a small but very friendly sailing club and we have been very active and quite adventurous for almost 50 years. You can be assured of a warm welcome from our members whether you have come across the Forth or across the North Sea.
Our clubhouse at the harbour is small but we provide toilets and showers for visiting crews and when not out sailing/racing during the season we can often be found in the club’s spiritual home The Volunteer Arms pub.

The first Annual General meeting of Dunbar Sailing Club took place on 15th July 1964. The next ten years were spent establishing the Sailing Club as a viable entity within the community. It is thanks to their efforts and foresight that we enjoy both the club and harbour side premises we have today.

We have an active summer programme of cruising and racing including picnics, BBQ’s, cruises in company and a Wednesday Series which runs all summer with longer races at the weekends. Some of our boats have, over the years, undertaken summer cruises to the Orkneys, Shetland, Fair Isle, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Germany and Norway. Our winter programmes include an end of season ‘laying up supper’ a more formal Prize Giving Dinner and some training courses such as Sea Safety as well as informal gatherings and club outings. We will always welcome new members and if you are interested in sailing or crewing then get in touch and give it a go.

"All of us have in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea - whether it is to sail or to watch it - we are going back from whence we came." - John F. Kennedy, Speech given at Newport at the dinner before the America's Cup Races, September 1962
