Minutes of a meeting of the Directors held on Thursday 8th November 2018 in the Methodist Church Hall, Dunbar

Minutes of the previous meeting:
The minutes of the meeting held on 11th October 2018 were approved.
There were no matters arising other than those covered elsewhere in the agenda

Harbour Users’ meeting
The Harbour Users’ Meeting had preceded the Meeting of the Directors and had been an opportunity to communicate recent achievements and to discuss future plans with harbour users.

Port Marine Safety Code and the Health & Safety Report:
1. Incident log review
There were no new incidents to report.
2. Risk Assessment review
The following risks were reviewed –
Being washed off the sea wall
Being injured while swimming or diving in the harbour
Suffering an electric shock
The pollution of the harbour through a fuel spillage
3. Safety Management System
There have been no recent changes to the SMS
Finance Report:
There was a small surplus in the month of October
Landings were good in October. As anticipated some of the income from July 
and August landings came through late.
Low fuel sales reflected difficult weather conditions in October, so this will 
have an impact on the landings revenue next month.
There were no exceptional items to report.
Harbour management committee:
Harbour bridge –
A tender document will be prepared for the complete exercise of refurbishing the rams.

Arch Henderson will be able to advise on the best ways forward for effective bridge maintenance
Environmental policy –
A draft environmental policy has been drafted and can be found on Dropbox. The DHMC and Yvonne are working on the Keep our Harbour Tidy project which will include an open day next year with educational stalls that will highlight the impact of waste & litter on the environment and, hopefully, the participation and contribution of school children.
DFA fork lift truck container –
The container will be on site by the end of this week.
RNLI slipway –
This project is moving through the process of getting the correct licences and permits.
Moorings committee:
Quentin and Avril are geared up to launch the 2019 mooring application process
Harbour policy, terms and conditions 2019:
Harbour charges 2019:
Final versions have been published and now need to be placed on the Harbour Trust website and notice board.

Projects:
Branders –
Further progress is planned for November
Development of the area under the Maggie –
The grant application has been sent to the FLAG Committee and a decision is expected in November.
Friends of Dunbar Battery:
The Dunbar Battery will be used this week-end for the “lighting of the beacon” ceremony.
The grass seeding has taken place
